Allison Rae Nichols

The paintings are from my "fog series" and they hold a heaviness and static state of mind. They were for me a visual journal meant to capture a moment and a feeling while allowing a viewer to incorporate their own nostalgia and memories by using familiar objects. The paintings were created by putting thin layers of paint over technical drawings to reveal and conceal spaces and things. This was a series devoid of color, and dealt more with weight so I could feel lighter and more expressive with my work in the future.
