Critique of Artwork

Juror: Esperanza Gama received her basic formal instruction in the arts at the Escuela de Artes Plásticas of the Universidad de Guadalajara, Mexico. The following year she became a professor at the Cabañas Cultural Institute in Guadalajara. Gama later moved to Paris, where she studied at the École Beaux-Arts in Chaville from 1988-90. While in Europe she also worked with an interior designer who featured her figurative drawings and paintings in interiors in Paris, Marseille, and Cannes. In 1993 Gama traveled to Asia to study Chinese painting at the Gakukaie Sumie Center in Tokyo. Gama eventually made her home in Chicago, painting and exhibiting extensively in that area
