Mending Ways: Horse, Colic is a horse skull that I have crocheted a cast over, literally and metaphorically mending the creature that died.

I researched diseases that were prevalent in
horses, and interviewed the farmer who owned the horse. By making a yarn cast for its bones, I literally and metaphorically mend the creature that died. These careful stitches become tissues and sinews, and act as a symbol of rebirth and retrospection.
