Observing the splendor of the flower is the first level of captivation when I begin-- the flower on the surface is rich with details that engage all of my senses. Underneath, I recognize the flower to be connected to an inner stillness and beauty in which all of nature is connected. As I paint and draw, I tune in to the simplicity and perfection each flower manifests, and in doing so capture a facet of its beauty in my art.
