Fresh pastries are displayed together encased in a glittery resin shell, preserving their appeal and attractiveness while rendering them inedible.

My work is a commentary on American society’s idealization of sugar and fatty foods, spiraling the obesity and diabetes epidemic that is largely onset by abuse of these foods yet is a widely socially acceptable addiction many people suffer from. My work serves as a personal narrative to rectify my own unhealthy relationship with food, sugar and my oral fixation with candy, sweets and other foods deemed ‘unhealthy’ or ‘sinful.’
