Evolution has taken place with these two separate creatures. As 'Claim' is just finding a new structure to grow upon for location and stability. 'Blend' has figured out how to mimic the metal bars it grew on. Knowing that this metal is not attracting for predators, it has created a defense mechanism of camouflage.
